THANET HERITAGE VOLUNTEER HUB

Passionate about local history, culture & community?
The Margate Caves, Dickens House Museum, Margate Museum & Tudor House & RAF Manston History Museum are looking for volunteers for their varied and interesting heritage projects.
Volunteers are central to the delivery, diversity, and resilience of the Thanet heritage sector. As a volunteer you can work on a range of activities including exhibitions, collections, welcoming and guiding visitors, marketing, and learning.
Our volunteers are integral to making everyone feel welcome. For most of our volunteer roles, you don't require any special experience, qualifications, or skills; as long as you're enthusiastic and passionate, we'd love to have you on the team!
Whether you are employed, at college, undertaking a Duke of Edinburgh Award, are retired, about to be retired or unemployed there are a range of flexible volunteering opportunities that provide something for everyone, both volunteering on site or from home, novice, or expert.
Where possible we match the time commitment needed to your availability. This could be a couple of hours, ½ or a full day a week or month, seasonal or short term for a specific project. Opportunities are available every day of the week.
We provide training where needed, and all volunteers are covered by insurance on site. All volunteers receive an induction.
Accessibility
The projects are heritage sites and some are in listed buildings and, as such, are not all fully DDA compliant. Please see individual project websites to find out more.
